Snowplow will not angle right.

Snow plow will not hold angle.
Snow plow leaks down.
Snow plow will not lower.

Solenoid Check: To check your "A", "B", and "C" solenoid coils for magnetism use a screwdriver by placing it on the nut securing the coil. You should feel a b magnetic pull when the switch is operated.

Cleaning Tip: Kerosene is the best method for cleaning parts and flushing the system. Kerosene will not damage the O-rings and will mix with the oil if any is left on the parts. To properly clean the system the power angling rams must be emptied and flushed with kerosene

A-Solenoid - Black wire    |    B-Solenoid - Red wire      | C-Solenoid - Green wire

Snowplow will not raise

Does the motor operate ?

YES
Check the oil level.
Is the level 1-1/2 inches from top ?

NO
Is there power to the motor ?

YES
Does the plow angle left instead of raising ?
NO
Add
hydraulic
fluid
YES
Repair or replace motor
NO

Check clean and tighten all electrical connections. Check the battery and connections. Check for shorts in all wires. Check the fuse.

Is there power the motor solenoid ?

YES
Does the "B" coil
(red wire) have magnetism ?
NO
Check "A" valve for clogged filters.

Check the pump shaft and motor armature. They should turn freely. Repair or replace as necessary
YES
Check "B"
valve O-rings
or replace "B" valve
NO
Is there power to the "B" coil ?
YES
Replace
the "B"
coil
NO
Is there power leaving the switch at the black wire ?
YES

Replace motor solenoid

NO

Is there power to the raise switch?

YES
Replace the harness
NO
Are the wires plugged into the switch ?
YES

Replace the switch.

NO

Get power to it.

YES
Replace the switch.
NO
Plug them in.

Snow Plow will not angle left

Does the motor run while angle switch is being pushed ?
(if the plow does not raise see above)

YES
Does the plow raise instead of angling ?
NO
Is there power to the motor (white wire) and power to the switch ?
YES

Clean or replace "B" valve.

NO

Clean or replace "C" valve.

YES

?

NO

Check the white jumper wire connections in the molded connector. If connected, replace angle switch.

Snow plow will not angle right

Does the motor run while the angle switch is being pushed ?
(if the plow does not raise see above)

YES
Does the plow raise instead of angling ?
NO
Is there power to the motor solenoid (white wire) and power to the switch ?
YES

Replace the "B" valve

NO
Can the plow angle to the left ?
YES

?

NO

Check white jumper wire connections in molded connector. If connected replace switch.

YES
Does the "C" coil (green wire have magnetism ?
NO

See left angling section above

YES

Are the "C" valve O-rings in good condition?(replace if needed.

If that still does not work replace the "C" valve.

If you continue to have problems replace the quick disconnects.

NO
Is there power to the coil ?
YES

Replace the "C" coil.

NO
Is there power leaving the switch ?
YES

Replace harness.

NO
Are the wires plugged into the switch ?
YES

Replace switch.

NO

Plug them in.

If you are still experiencing problems you could have interference between the A-frame sector. If this still does not help, call a qualified technician.

Snow Plow will not hold angle

Are the rams mushy and does the plow move 6 to 8 inches ?

YES

Bleed air from the system and tighten glad nuts.
Check all couplers and fittings for leaks.
Replace or repair as necessary.

NO
Does the plow release from right angle only but hold left angle ?
YES

Change pilot check ball and seat.
If this does not work replace "C" valve O-rings.

NO

Replace "C" valve O-rings.

Plow leaks down

Does the plow drop down ?

YES

Check "A" valve O-rings. Replace if necessary.
Check "A" valve, does it move freely ?
Replace if necessary.

NO

Does the plow drop and angle left ?
If so replace "B" check valve.
If it still does not hold replace "B" valve.
If these steps do not work, replace the base.

Plow will not lower

Does the "A" coil (black wire) have magnetism ?

YES

Replace "A" valve.
If it still does not lower check for a clogged filter or a blocked passageway.
Also check for a bend or a seized ram.

NO
Is there power to the "A" coil ?

YES

Replace the "A" coil.

NO
Is there power leaving the switch at the black wire ?
YES

Replace wiring harness.

NO
Are the wires in the molded connector plugged into the switch ?

YES

Check fuse.
If fuse is bad, check for shorts in wire harness, "A" coil.
If fuse is good replace switch.

NO

Plug them in.

These are the most common problems, the next step is to disassemble the unit. If you are not familiar with disassembling the unit, we suggest you take it to a qualified technician or go to Plow Pump Service.com

These tips are suggestions only and will not solve all problems related to the Meyer® E46 & E47 units. This is not a substitute for a factory trained person with experience
